power or manual steering

I have a D-15 manufactured in 1961. I would like to change the fluid in my steering. My manual says for manual steeringn I should use 3 3/4 qts of sae 80. It says I need to remove grill and the filler plug is vented.

My manual says if power steering I should use 5 quarts of sae 5w-20 or sae 10w-30 depending on the temperature. Front support is oil sump.

I do have to remove the grill and I have a filler plug that is vented.

Because of all the fluid lines going into the resevoir and the cylindar looking unit attached the lines I believed I had power steering. So I drained the old fluid and attempted to put 5 quarts of 10w-30 in but 4 quarts overflowed the resevoir , so I then thought is it manual because then the 3 3/4 quarts would fit.

Being that different fluids are required I want to make sure I have the right fluid.

Is there a simple way to determine if I have manual or power steering?

If you have a pump on the engine, you have power steering.

I appreciate your getting back to me, thank you. We are both on the same page. Being able to put less than 4 quarts in the resevoir instead of 5 bothered me. But perhaps I need to start up the tractor and then see if I can add additional fluid.
