I'm trying to bring a WD back to life with an E gleaner combine engine. Found out its a 17 engine and have been struggeling with the change over. I would like to reuse the WD water pump to keep the fan out of the rad. Looks like I need to fashion a pully for the crank shaft as its not working out. The rear main has been leaking and I hit the local NAPA and B to B and neither have a seal. does anyone know where there avail? or do I have to buy the whole gasket kit? Help with either problem will be appreciated. Thanks Rick

drill water pump mounting holes out from clearance for 3/8" to clearance for 7/16" bolts. broach keyway in wd pulley on cl of locating bolt(5/32" key? i'm not sure, check!)
d-17 block won't have fuel pump, so no problem there.
oil line running into block will need fitting turned to clear steering shaft.
d-17 block will have governer, so better yet!
replace clutch while your in there! if it held up to old motor, it might still slip now. also, read your it manual, and adjust hand clutch to it's specs.
if you have a tight engine, you'll be happy. with enough weight, you'll have a heck of a tractor on your hands!

Thanks for the tips. I can get key way machined but pully wont slide on crank far enough to line up centering bolt. My tape measure says even if I do the pully will be out of line 3/4 of an inch as the centering hole is farther from block on 17. ??? Maybe I need a new tape.
