I bought the first tractor I ever drove about a year ago it is a D17 it was my grand dad's. ever since I can remember the lo side has sliped the high side was fine I asked grand pa why he didn't fix it cause it slip going into his drive motor racing and not hardly moving he always said the clutches were bad so I did a little research on here and found some good info well yesterday I took the quadrant plate off took .005 off the lo clutch pack and add .005 pressure plate side like it said in the book it will pull house down in lo it took 30 minutes to do it .Think grandpa shoulda got book 30 years ago eh thanks all for the info out there MM

Is not it amazing WHAT you can do once you have the right info from a service manuel? I also like a true service manuel, one that is printed hardcopy and bound. When you have it on CD the monitor can be very difficult to lay across your knee as you are working by the side of the tractor.
