my shifter is very loose and routinely slips out of gear when shifting. I will probably have to build up the end and get an oversize pin, but it appears that the place where the ball of the shifter (pivot point) sits in the shift tower is worn badly. I am not sure how feasible it is to build up the inside of the shift tower. I can get a new shift tower for $285 but before I do that does anyone have any ideas on how to "tighten up" the shifter assembly? Thanks

I build the ball on one up using bronze and the took a gringer and dressed it up so it was round again... works fine now... took a couple of hours but it was not too hard to do.
