can anyone tell me how to get the shift lever out of a mod ca, I have a repair manual. it shows wd, c, b,& g but not a ca. I hought maybe I could get 4th gear un-hung if I could get the shift lever out.

REMOVE THE RUBBER BOOT AND YOU WILL SEE A "C" RING. YOU MUST REMOVE THIS TO REMOVE THE SHIFTER. ITS VERY STIFF AND WILL FIGHT YOU ALL THE WAY OUT.SAME AS ON B & C. BOB

I had to drill a 1/8 in hole in the casting to the back side of the snapring and tap a punch in sow you can get a screw driver in there and pry it out carfuly not to bend it the floor pan had to be pryed out of the way alitel to get at one bolt to I think
