What are the rated ground speeds for an Allis Chalmers CA? One of the things I don"t like about my Farmall Cub is that it"s geared a little too high in first gear. I"m thinking of buying a CA and wonder how they compare?

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that it isn't any faster. The good part is that I could reduce rpms to slow down the ground speed and still have way more power than the cub has. I'm running a 4' Mott flail mower on the cub and would put a 5 or 6' woods belly mower on the CA.
Thanks,
John

An Allis CA won't help much. While the Cub speeds are 2.1, 3.1 & 6.4, the CA speeds are 2.0, 3.5, 4.5 & 11.2. The only AC tractor with a really low speed is the G which has a crawler gear. Otherwise in small tractors, the John Deere M & 40 both go 1.6 MPH in first gear. This data is from Nebraska tests. Some folks put smaller wheels on back to reduce speed.
