I have a sickle mower on my C and I had to make a pulley for the PTO, no long available from the dealer. I used a 14 inch pulley but that seems to make if run a little on the fast side. So what I need to know is what size was the pulley on this mower when new??
Thanks

Old,

The B/C mower uses a 10" OD drive pulley on the PTO and an 8" OD driven pulley on the mower, using a single C-section belt. A 14" drive pulley would run it way too fast. The original pulleys were both two-piece with 5 thin spacers between the halves. You could fine tune the sickle speed relative to ground speed for the cutting conditions by removing one or more spacers from one pulley and adding them to the other one. That changes the effective pitch diameters. The normally recommended sickle strokes per minute is 715 when the PTO is at 560 rpm. I have never had a reason to change mine from that stock speed condition.

It mows well it just seems to run a little on the fast side, but I guess I'll leave it as is for now unless it shacks things apart to badly and then I might get a 10 inch one. Thanks
