I have a 1979 AC 5020 tractor with a nonfunctional mechanical proofmeter. Can anyone help me find a replacement, or repair it?

I have a new cable and it still did not work. I removed the proofmeter and found a broken spring inside. I have had a dickens of a time trying to find a replacement. I sent it away to two tach repair shops. They sent it back stating they cannot fix mechanical meters. The meter is made by Nippon Seiki. I emailed them, but they could not help either. I am stumped. Can anyone help me? I am losing hope. Thanks,

I send tractor tachs to the local speedometer repair shop for repair. No problems so far. One was off from a grey-market Mitsubishi tractor (I don't know what brand the tach was). Highest price I've paid for repair so far was $85.00.
