i traded for a i believe is a 80r rear mower according to pictures i have seen. my question is ,it didnt have a belt on it and dont know how to put it on correctly. it has to go over the pto pulley and then over the gearbox pulley,it has a flat idler pulley on the bottom and a big flat pulleyon the top. the top pulley is on a arm and has a chain hooked from it to a bolt on the bottom of the (frame)ADJUSTERD BY THE CHAIN FOR TENSION?.does the belt go on the under side of the bottom pulley or over the top???. THANKS IN ADVANCE

The idler goes on top of the belt. There should be a spring between the chain and frame to give tension.

Normally the tensioner pulley is flat and goes over the top of the belt, (wider and flatter than the underside)- but as the belt stretches, you may get more life out of it by putting it on the underside. Since you have chain and linkage, the design of the linkage may allow only one way to use it. If the tension pulley were on a slotted bracket, it could go either way.
