just this past weekend managed to buy a little C allis my grandad owned years ago. dont know the year or where the serial plate is suppost to be or much of anything else about the little tractor it does run but has been treated kind of rough never thought i would own it remember it as a little boy thought it was big then

Can't agree more about the family connection. Always think about that with the machines I have whether I know a thing about the family or not. Always wonder what the family connection was. It makes keeping the machines alive just a bit more meaningful ;-).

When you get the serial number off it, look it up in the left column under Research and Info, Serial Numbers. There's a good list for the C there.

If it's rough, just start one piece at a time. It'll be just like you remember it before you know it. It's going to be 57 or more years old and unfortunately that usually means damage. But you can get or make whatever you need on the little Allis'.

Congradulations on getting your grandfather's tractor. The family connection ones are the special ones. The serial number will be right by the gear shift lever. Should say Tractor No then have the serial number right below it. Good luck with it.
