I am thinking about checking out a WD.There is one in the paper for 1500. It includes loader, sickle bar with extra bar, bucket and blade and 3pt hitch.
I am assuming a trip bucket. I have an 8N so I have some knowledge of tractors but no experience with an Allis. Is there any weakness in particular on a WD that I need to look for?
1500 a fair price in upstate NY ?

If the boot on the shift lever is missing or in bad shape, suppect water in the transmission. Might want tocheck anyway, after running remove a filler plug, square head pipe plug, two of them on the left side, and check for tan color oil= water.

Be sure the hyds work and that the hand clutch works. Also look over the PTO which by the way is live PTO by way of the hand clutch. I have a couple of them my self, ones a WD and the other one is a WD-45

If the tractor runs w/o too much smoke, and everything works, it's a great price. I own an Allis B and wanted a WD, but couldn't find one close to home (Baltimore Area). Wound up with a Farmall Super M. Good Luck!
