Hydraulic System too loose/touchy on WD

The hydraulic system on my WD comes up alot because the hydraulic lever will always lift itself into the up position if not tied down. Doesn"t matter if I have an implement on or not - it always wants to raise up (and fast). Any way to adjust this?

It may even be raising too fast...

Yes it can be fixed but the entire sequence to properly adjust the linkage is way too complicated and long winded to post here. You need to acquire an operators manual and adjust the linkages per the book and have the system properly set for what you want it to do. You also need to make sure your lever friction block is good and the spring that holds it to the quadrant is in good shape.

I only use it for the hydraulic pullverizer anymore, since we don"t have a need for the plow and my rams are shot.

Case in point, where exactly is this "linkage" and how hard would it be to adjust it? Same with this spring you mentioned.

I have a manual and will look at it when I get home.

There is no magic bolt to turn that fixes all hydraulic problems if that is what you are asking. The linkage, (which means everyting between the hand lever and pump and down to the hitch) must be right and you have to set the system up for posistion holding. As I said before it is all to complicated to explain here read your manual. The spring that holds the lever against the friction block is right behind the steering wheel and lever qradrant.

I read the manual. It doesn"t seem too difficult to do these adjustments, but I am unsure how to measure all these accuracies and spaces such as 1/32" and such. But I think it is do-able.
