I purchased used hydraulic pump for WD45 from salvage yard. After instalation the pump pumps even when lever is down. The lift arms stay up even when engine shut down. Is there a valve stuck some place. I thing all ajustments are same as the one I took off. Could there be air in the oil lines that are a cause of problem. Any help on this I would sure appreciate.

I had same problem on WD
It was caused by (2)cracked O-ring inside pump or control valve they were letting oil by therefore holding pressure. you should use the manual and dissassemble to check it was a cheap fix

If it pumps when the lift lever is down- the linkage is not adjusted properly. It should start pumping when the lift lever is raised to about the 11 o'clock position. Lift arms may not drop on their own when the engine is shut down and the lift lever is lowered, but you should be able to push them down when the engine is off and the lift lever is lowered. Both problems come from the linkage set wrong. Air is not a problem- the system will purge air after a few cycles.

I noticed that you are also in Minnesota. My lifts are also stuck in the UP position - been there now for 5 weeks. Any clues on cause? In what part of MN are you?

The arms can be pushed down just a little with the engine off and lever down but will not go down all the way. They feel spongy when you push on them.
