First, I would like to know just what the "power lift" on a WC was supposed to do. where was the pump, where was the foot pedal, what implements were made for it, can I find a complete one, would it do me any good if I did find one and could afford it?

Secondly, if I have a puncture wound (small one) in the sidewall of a 16" front 2 rib tire, should I patch it or replace it?

Patches might be cheaper than tires. I've fixed holes in sidewalls less than an inch long successfully with a large patch and a new tube. Brian

The lift was all mechanical. It bolted on top behind the transmission. Tractor had to be moving for it to work. When you come to end of row you had to make sure lift was tripped to raise. Had a foot pedal. It would rotate one half turn with automatic stop. If cultivator was up, you hit foot pedal, it would drop. Had to take it off when two row mounted corn picker used. Had a cover plate. Drove it many hour when I was a kid.

The power lift we had was used to lift the two row cultivator out of ground. also we had a home made attachment to lift a two furrow lister, which was also home made from several parts
