front wheel reaching for the sky

I have a CA I bought it with a sickle bar mower attached to the back, snap coupler, I'm pretty sure it's a model 80 mower. The funny thing is the frontend is very light, if you drive on any incline the frontend will reach for the sky. Kinda doesn't seem like the right mower for the CA. Have to put weighs on the front of a tractor just to mow? geesh. Was this mower meant to be used on a different model and I should have a belly mounted sickle mower for my CA? Thanks for any info!

As has wilman said it might not be an 80. Is it a twin wheel or a pitman drive? An 80 is a twin wheel drive. Is it a three point with an adapter? That would make it heavy. I don't remember anybody having to put weights on a CA to use a rear mount 80 mower. But then it has been awhile.

The mower has a double wheel drive....not a pitman. the tractor has a round thingy bolted to the bottom and the mower has an channel frame and at the end of the frame it is cut out like a V, (like if you would spread two of your fingers apart) that V goes under the back of the tractor and rest on the round thingy then pinch bolted to it, then there is a cable with what I think is the snap coupler on it that hooks to the right side lift arm (it lifts the mower) thats again for talking with me about this

If it attaches to the snap coupler bell, it is not an 80 series mower but I believe the mower that came before the 80 series. The 80R mower had a special bracket that attached to where the drawbar bale (part that holds the drawbar up)attaches to. I do know that a 80R mower could be attached to a CA. Probably just need to find some front end weights for the CA or fill the front tires with fluid.

No problem big hunter.

Just looked in the AC bible and it sounds like you have a No. 7 mower if it connects to the Snap Coupler hitch, built from 1956-1959. Doesn't really say what tractors they were built for. Does say that the 80R was built for the D series along with WD and CA, so I would think that the No. 7 would still work on a CA because it is basically the same as an 80R only has the snap coupler hitch on it.
