What key tips do you have for gasket(s)replacement on "39 B? Should I use RTV for the sealants on all gaskets or black silicone? Planning on doing these:Cylinder head cover gasket, governor cover gasket, oil filter assembly gasket, final drive gasket. Thanks

I use K&W Copper Coat for the rocker (valve) cover gasket, but only on the cover side. I coat the gasket and cover surface lightly, allow the stuff to get nice and tacky, usually about 20 Min., and then place the gasket carefully on the cover. Start the screws into the cover and then place the cover on the head, then tighten the screws. Works great and I seldom drop a screw while installing. If I need to remove the cover later, the gasket usually stays intact and comes off with the cover.

My 2,
Phil

I put all gaskets on dry - no sealents except for the head. For the head gasket I use Coppercoat.
