I found & purchased my grandpa"s "39 B and had it restored. The man I purchased it from had already replaced the rings, ground and seated the valves, replaced rod bearings and clutch disk. I have a new oil pressure gauge. The compression is good and the tractor does not smoke. Using the tractor today to hill potatoes the needle in the pressure gauge stayed at the "N" or a little below. The oil level was 3/4 full. Is the oil pump going out? What else could be causing it?
If it is the oil pump what cost at I looking at to have it replaced? Any one near Cedar Rapids Iowa do this work? Thanks.

Using pleasted paper type oil filters will lower the oil pressure reading, too.

What type of oil do you have in it. If you have a muti weight oil then the oil could be your problem. In these old tractors I never use a muti weight oil because of that type of problem
