GUYS COULD ANYBODY TELL ME ANY PROS OR CONS FOR EITHER THE LATE MODLE 190 OR THE 200. WHATS THE MAIN DIFFERENCES IN THE TWO? I THINK THE 200 IS JUST AN EARLY VERSION OF THE 7000 BUT WITHOUT THE 3SP POWER SHIFT, BUT ANY WAY I WOULD JUST LIKE A GOOD OPION BETWEEN THE TWO. THANKS

The older 190 had a lot of transmission/rearend problems after they went to the turbo.Even the late 200s had some problems with the drive train. The thrust washer wouid break and it would jump out of gear was one problem,I had this happen om several tractors that I worked on.There is a lot to tearing down these transmissions, and the AC thrust washer would alot of times break again after some time(after being setup with the right clearances).I started having a brass machined washer made instead of the hardened factory part .This pretty well corrected this problem for me.

i have a ac 200 with rebuilt motor & turbo. excellent power, fuel economy and reliability.
starter is a lucas which was rebuilt and is more expensive than delco. hydraulics & 3 point work well. cab is excellent. 200 has straight thru axles unlike 190. my biggest complaint is four speed transmission. it is not geared correctly.
4th speed is too slow. pops out of 5/6 and reverse. this winter i am going to rebuild transmission. if you can not do this you will
end up with a dangerous lemon.

The Lucas starter was an update to help them start quicker. It turns 200 RPM faster than a Delco. Somewhere out there is an outfit that has a different 3rd gear combo the brings it up to around 10 mph. You could also speed it up by putting 42 or 46 inch rubber on it.

The 200 is more like the 190XT diesel than the 7000. It's pretty much like the later 190XTD's with the lift and the final drive beefed up. Has some transmission improvements like the latest 190's. There were quite a few improvements to the 190's during it's production (64-71).
The 7000 was beefed up in all these areas and had a little more hp.

The 200 had the same engine that is in the 7000.

I'm not up on all the little details, but have this spring purchased a 200. I am told it is basically a beefed up XT190. Great power, great fuel efficiency, Turns real short, I think, for a wide front. Easy to service. Marvelous 3 point hitch stuff. Only drawback I can see is that shifting gears can be a little sticky, no big deal. Was told the straight cut gears cause this, but they are stronger than bevel cut gears. E-mail me if you want more. We really like this machine.
