hi i just got my grandfathers d17 deisel the sticker on the side says it is a series 3 but the serial number is d17 10215 d anyway i was wondering if it was really a series 1 thanks

Crystal, the books say it is a Series I built in 1958. But don't dispair. The only real differences between a series I and III are cosmetic - different paint, decals and muffler shape. Enjoy your tractor.

my series 1 D17 has series 3 decals too...i'm thinking it was repainted before all the aftermarket suppliers made reproductions...stands to reason the AC dealers were out of series 1 stuff so they sold series 3.
