Maybe someone can give me some advice. I just put a new clutch in my Allis D-15. Had the flywheel resurfaced (they took off about 1/16 or more of material). Bought a reconditioned pressure plate assembly with a new pressure plate in it, and a new button clutch. I put everything together and adjusted to fingers to the specified measurement, and when I joined the tractor together adjusted the throwout bearing to the specified 1/4". (I had to adjust the fork almost to it's limits forward to get the 1/4") Now the clutch seems to work except that the fork for the throwout bearing hits a casting brace inside the torque tube. When it hits this brace the clutch is just barely disengaged and I do not have very much clutch pedal travel. Should I move the clutch fingers out a little from there specified measurement to correct this, or is there something else I'm missing. It's hard to believe that the little bit that was taken off of the flywheel would have so much of an affect on the pedal travel. Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you check the release brg to make sure that the installed height on the brg carrier was the same as the old one/Did you change the tube that the release brg slides on ?If you mixed up different clutch setups on these tractors you can run into all sorts of screwy clutch adjustments.

If you are sure of the spec for the finger height adjustment, I would hate to change that. The geometry of the fingers and associated mechanism is important to smooth clutch engagement.

Do you have the correct throwout bearing? (Thickness)

Could you "relieve" the interferance point on the housing a bit with a die grinder?

As you know, as the clutch wears, the finger height will INCREASE, so, if you can get it to release now, it will be OK as it wears.

I will double check the finger measurements again. The casting would have to be ground too much in order to get the clearance I need.
