Allis B head trouble?

The Allis starts missing after it warms up and smokes blue alittle. I thought maybe the mag was breaking down or a fuel issue. Tank, carb and lines are clean. Mag's got a strong, consistant blue spark. While it was missing, I throttled it up and noticed some oil being pushed out of the oil bath air cleaner. Valve issues? Time to have the head machined? Any help welcome. Thanks

make sure your oil bath filter aint got rainwater in it...it'll raise level.
otherwise it sounds like weak rings to me...valves usually only cause noticable smoke during cold start and it goes away as tractor warms up...old told ya rite...no point doing it half a**

a compression test, would help. It would not fix the problem,but it would narrow it to rings, valves,and what cylinder. A compression tester and instructions could really help you here.

blue-white smoke is oil burning. if the mag is missing, you con not rev it up as you said. the mag will eventuallly quit and wont spark untill it cools off. if it is oil, it might foul the plugs from time to time.----- -- head dont do all the job, probalby needs rings also.

Yeah...the plugs are clean...not fouling or dirty...i think it's compression related to valve issues...I can only afford to have the head reworked right now...can't do sleeves and rings.

What I would do if you can't afford to do it right is just live with it. If all you do is the head then you WILL blow the ringsa out the bottom of the engine fast. You always need to do the head and rings at the same time or don't do either one.

Yes what old said. I have seen where fellows took the head off their car, ground the valves and then very soon after they had a hole in the side of the block. Not saying that would happen on your B but increasing the pressure on the bearings if they need attention could cause a higher cost in the end.
