Hello,

A few weeks back, I noticed that I had gas leaking out the air intake side of the carb and after looking at all the historical meassges here, I decided to rebuild the Zenith Carb on my AC C. Now that I"ve done rebuild and reassembled the unit, I"m having trouble getting her to run. I can"t for the life of me find a good starting point in any of the rebuild kit instructions or my manuals.

From what I see, I"ve got an adjustment screw on the lower side of the throttle lever, the upper adjusting screw with spring on the top of the carb body, and another tee-handle adjustment on the main jet at the bottom of the bowl. Anyone have any hints as to where these should be set initially?

Thanks
Mike

What wilman said. After it starts adjust the idle first. Turn the screw on the back of the carb to where it will run with the throttle lever by the steering wheel set all the way back. Adjust the screw with the spring (idle air mixture screw) to where it speeds up the engine. adjust the screw on the back side of the carb to slow down the engine as much as you can and still run. Then back to the idle screw and speed up the engine to its fastest rpm and then back to the screw behind the carb. Repeat this until you have the idle set to the proper rpm. Then to the screw with the T handle. Run the engine at full throttle and adjust to where it runs the best and then turn in until you hear the engine start to slow. that will be as close as you will get without the engine being under a load.

I usually start everything out about 1 1/2 turns out from being fully seated (screws all the way in) and than adjust from there.
