Do they make different thickness of headgaskets for the D17 series 4 diesel? The one I got from Valuebilt seems to be about 1/2 the thickness of the old one. It seems to be made of a very hard material, compaired to the old one. Thanks Tom

i dont have much good to say about buda diesels but if the fire ring is about twice as thick as gasket i'd give it a shot...i got a felpro set from napa and it sucked the fire rings on 5&6...let us know how it turns out.

I think felpro is about the best gasket you can get for these diesels. I believe they are teh suppliers of the OEM gaskets for AGCO now. We had a D17 series 4 diesel and sold it because it blew a head gasket. Miss the tractor and would love to find it. Apparently it has been completely restored and given a showroom paint job now, so its living a good life, just don't give up on it, they are great tractors, just take a little patience and tinkering to get right. Good luck
