I want to know how fast my WD45 is running ? Where do I get or rent a tach like is used at tractor pulls? My linkage has been moved more than once over the years

Kent is correct. To use readily available tachs, your tractor will need to be running on 12 volt negative ground. I've got them to work on 6 volt systems, but you need a second battery and an induction pickup tach which are very hard to find. Easiest and quickest is to convert to 12 volt negative ground (if you are already) and then most any tach will work that has the three position switch (4-6-8).

If you have battery ignition you can use an electric tach. I have an old Chraftman tune-up meter set that measure RPM and Dwell. It has a 4 cylinder setting that would work great on you tractor. I use the 4 cylinder setting to set the govener on a single cylinder Kohler but you have to do some calculations first.
