anybody know where i can find a gas tank for a wc 1942?

just for info:

i solved the rust problem by making a longer pickup tube for the inlet fitting

i soldered a piece of tubing into the tank fitting raising the pickup 2 inches

i then added a trans magnet from an automatic transmission to attract what rus was left

i started by running a strong magnet around the tank and then flushing several times with fuel

pulled it today and went 317.69 274.50 204.99

i hope it keeps working

If it 's not too bad, or actually leaking, you might try having it cleaned and plastic coated. I have had four or five done by a local radiator shop. Cost was about $60. My B tank was rusty & I cleaned it with some large gravel & a lot of shaking. Use some gas to help keep the gravel clean & abrasive. Getting it all out was a trick due to the shape of the filler neck, but I made an attachment for my shop vac that worked OK. Then I used a kit I got at our local auto parts to coat the tank. No problems after two years. Cost was about $25.

The WC and WD tanks are not the same. The fuel outlet is on the wrong side on a WD tank.

it really doesn't matter which side the outlet is on

what condition is your tank

mine has bad rust and pitting
