Hydraulic capacity on WD45

Howdy, I want to run a hydraulic hog trailer and I was wondering if my 45 has enough resevoir capacity to run this. It has two cylinders, approx. 2" bore by 8" stroke.

the common sump tractors are the little B-C-CA tractors. old ALLIS tractor have lots of pressure, 3200 psi, but very small volumn output. since the cylinders are only 2 inch dia and 8 inches long, it is very close to working. if you put an extra quart or two in the hydraulics it will probably work o.k.--- the idea of an extra tank is good, lot of guys do that. your cylinder is small enough it may work. i run one cylinder 2 x 8 on a B tractor.

I'm pretty sure the g is common sump too.. more or less a b tranny case and no final drives.. etc..

According to my AC-11 I&T manual.. the wd and wd45 have a common sump tranny/diffy, and it holds 17 quarts. If the hyds are also common sump.. I'd guess that you have plenty of oil laying around to work with..

No. Hydraulic sump is not part of the tranny/rear end. Uses different oil as well. Op manual would show the capacity, which is not much, but another reservoir can be plumbed in.

I wonder why the service manual doesn't show a hyd capacity? It has capacities listed for the final drives, pto gearbox, diffy/tranny, and crankcase. Were hyds 'standard' on wd/45's?

I have never seen a WD without a hydraulic pump. But according to my owners manual it was an option on the early WD. If I remember right the capacity is five quarts. According to some sales literature I have on the WD45 they list a remote cylinder as an option. Reading of that manual makes me think it was standard on the WD45. I do not know why they did not include hydraulic capacities but I have the same manual you refered to and I did not find it either.
