For the record, the info I gave you about the adjustments were correct. The 2 screws adjust idle speed and idle mixture...the power jet is a fixed mixture once the throttle butterfly opens up. As for the miss, it sounds like a spark issue...or manifold blockage. Pull the boots off of the plug wires and start her up. Throttle up to where she misses, and pull the plug wires one at a time until you find the one that's missing. Then, hold it close to the plug tip to see if it's firing on that cylinder. If not, check the cap, wire and if needed, points. If they check out, could be coil issue. If you're getting blue spark on all of the cylinders...might have a bad carb (happened b4) or a blockage in the intake manifold. Little spiders can build strong webs.

Hope it helps...

If this is the case for this carb why does it have the main jet adjustment and the idle mixture adjustment run me through how I should adjust this not getting the black smoke anymore but when I close the main jet all the way tractor will stay running same is true with the idle mixture but get that little falter at mid rpm range sounds like cylinder is dropping out.I did do a compression test seeing that everything in the block including the block is new compression was at 120 lbs per cylinder I assume this is good??

When you had the manifold off, what kind of condition were the ports that are toward the block? You're problem sounds like an intake manifold leak (assuming that you now have a good carb).

There are other things. Be sure the valves are adjusted properly. Some plugs don't work well in WD tractors. I have had trouble with new Champion plugs not firing correctly. I recall once I removed new Champions and replaced them with old AC which worked very, very well. Plug wires could be causing trouble as well.
