Fella's Thanks so much for the serial number info, it seems this"B" at least has a tranny outa a "C" tractor, I know the tractor is a "B" from the photo. Ive asked the guy to get me a serial on the motor on account of the first number he gave was a casting number he got off the block, thats why it wasnt addin up, and although this is a very nice lookin little tractor at what I felt was a fair price I've definatly had my bubble popped over the "C" tranny bein put in the thing.I really prefer to know the correct year of my tractors, and this fella ( current owner ) didnt know his "B" even had a "C" tranny in it. Seems like such a bad deal to have lost the year, oh well I'll continue the searchfor a reasonibly priced LiL' tractor. If anyone has any ideas on figuirin out the correct year let me know. Thank again, Hoss

AN40331 doesen't sound like an engine S/N. It should be BE###### or CE######, depending on the year of manufacture. I think a '44 would have the CE engine, 125 CI vs. the BE engine of 116 CI. The engine S/N is located either on a flat boss near the mag/dist. or on the left hand edge of the engine flange (as viewed from the seat) where the torque tube bolts up to the engine. In either location, the numbers are stamped into the block, not cast in.

And to add, the tractor serial number will be at the base of the shifter it will say "TRACTOR NO BXXXXX
