B Pinion Shaft Oil Seal Problem------

Trying to find proper fit of oil seal on the pinion shaft of a "39 "B" Allis Chalmers.

The old seal has only a number 8 on it.
The parts book shows the number 800351.
The C-R Seal is 11800 which can be found at auto parts stores.

Problem: The new C-R Seal, 11800, is correct for the OD, (2.00") but the ID is tight on the shaft, making it difficult to install the shaft without damaging the seal. By "tight on the shaft", I mean that the metal part of the seal is just about the same diameter as the shaft, causing the rubber to be pushed out of the seal when you install the pinion shaft.

Any good ideas on an alternate seal that would fit and give some clearance?? Thanks!1

The also make a seal in another series that's only .031" larger, the 12131, which is also WIDER:

Bob----Thank you for the information. The 12456 Seal is exactly what we needed. Evidently, our parts man was confusing 1.250 with 1 1/8 inches.
