WD carb leak

Just got my 51 WD running. It would start and run for about 30 sec. before dying. Figured it was crud in the gas tank/line and replaced line and filter with the proper sediment bulb and this solved that problem. Runs real smooth too!. BUT...now a serious leak comes out the little hole in the bottom of the carb. Best I can tell is it's the Marvel-Schebler kind w/ an angle cock on the bottom. The leak is coming out of what is referred to as air intake drain or expansion plug right in the center bottom. Am I missing a piece of a plug? I've got the parts catalog, it refers to felt packing but also says discontinued in '48. Any of this sound familiar? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like I need to get to know the insides of my carb. I'll try cleaning first, if it doesn't help at least it will get me familiar with the parts. It would make sense I think to clean out the gas tank before attempting a rebuild so I don't just gunk everything up again. Thanks

Sound like the float to me too. Clean the carb and float. Spray with a good cleaner. Let dry .

I'm guessing when you see it dripping out the hole, take off the air intake, bet gas come out there.

You probably have some junk in the float needle and its not cloeing as it should. I'd say you need to put a kit in the carb. BTDT way to many times. Check out the web site and you might understand the BTDT
