fully restored tractor go to run black smoke pours out of the exhaust also fuel leaking out of the air intake side of the carb carb was newly rebuilt also could not adjust. Replaced the carb with rebuilt zenith carb with just my luck the same issue happening Thick black smoke out of the exhaust and fuel leaking out of the air intake side of the carb need help!!!!! !!!!
Also I bought a mag to distributor conversion does this install and time just like the installation of the magneto on the fire mark of the flywheel!!!

Had the same fuel problem a few years back when I bought an Allis B. I rebuilt the carb but, it didn"t help. There was no adjustment for the main jet. Went to a dealer who has a lady working there who owned and Allis dealership years ago. I told her of my problem, she laughed and said she had the cure. She gave me a new smaller jet. It has been running perfect ever since.

Ken, the smaller jet could solve a problem of black exhaust - fuel rich mixture. But Sal said gas is leaking out of the air inlet which means the carb is running over. This will also cause black smoke if you can get it to run at all.

Your fuel problem is caused by a leak in the needle and seat of the carburator - both carburators. Some dirt may have gotten into this area. You need to take the carb apart and clean it thoroughly. Check that the float is level when the float is in the closed position. Run some gas from the tank through the gas line to insure the gas from the tank is absolutely clean.

Again, if the magneto works, I recommend against replacing it with the distributor. Magnetos are very reliable. They take no battery power so the tractor can be run with no battery at all. And it can be started without the battery by pulling or cranking. And it will NOT run better with a distributor.
