I just acquired a B pretty rough with a locked up motor. After some tinkering motor is free and runs like a top. I would like to build a 3 point lift using the original rockshaft, hydraulics and cylinders.Does anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom? The hydraulic pump seems to be fine but the original cylinders need some attention. Can anyone tell me is there replacement parts available or a rebuild kit for them thanks Ray

Here are some pictures of a 3pt I built couple of years ago for a Allis Model C I had. It worked fine, I used a larger cylinder attached to a special bracket I made. The only problem was I made the lift arms too long. It went up fast enough but went down slow without any weight on it.HTH

i built a 3 point for a B and used a CA cylinder, just one. It probably has a 1-1/4 inch bore or 1-1/2. about 3 ties the surface area of a C cylinder. I bought lower arms at Farm King, thnk they wre made for a 8N-9N. I used two chains to tie the lower arms with 3/8 clevis and pins to the upper shaft (rock shaft). The chains give plenty of flex. might need a diagonal brace between the lower arms on some implements.

I just talked to the ARCO Agi dealer yesterday about rebuilt parts for the cylinder on my C which is the same as the B and they have them Costs around $10 for the kit. I don't think those cylinder will be able to pick up much if used for a 3 point but then on the other hand if you lift much the front end will also be off the ground. I'm also thinking about building a 3 point for this C but since I have cylinders from a WD I think I will use them since there a little bigger and I have them. If you look down a few posts you will see a few picture I posted today of a far parts on my C which I may also use in a 3 point system

One problem with using CA cylinders or WD cylinders is that the pump volume is so small that the lift will be very slow. You might want to hook up the hydraulics before making any mods to be sure it will meet your needs. I've done one using two B or C cylinders and it worked pretty good. I have a 3 point on my C right now using just one C cylinder. It can lift my shredder but just barely. Two would be plenty. One WD would probably be enough.

Hey Denny, I just put a WD cylinder on this C yesterday becuase the one that was on it leaks very badly and the WD cylinder is good. I posted a picture of it down a few posts. It works good and doesn't seem to be slow but its only lifting the sickle mower at this time. Thinking about useing the brackets pictured down below to use as upper mounts for the 3 point what do you think. Pictures also down below in a post.

Old, if it works fast enough on the mower, it will be fine on a 3 point. Hydraulic pumps are constant volume so it really doesn't matter what the load is for the speed of lifting (through a considerable range). Couldn't figure out the brackets you are talking about in the other posts. When I did my 3 point, I used the cultivator lifting assembly. I cut off about 4 to 6 inches from each end of the pivot bar and welded on two bars to serve as lift arms (two that were mounted on the far ends of the part I cut off). Then I put two or three holes in each of the lift arms. By moving the chain attachment closer to the pivot, I can lift more weight but at the sacrifice of lifting height. Also, my lower lift arms stick out too far behind the tractor which causes the steering to slide on turns. I need to move the attachement place about 12 to 18" closer to the front. However, I have used it as is for mowing twice. I liked it real well except for the steering. There are lots of options on this deal.
