I"ve got a few questions for anyone that might be able to help me out.

My dad has an Allis 190XT that he thinks he spun a bearing in. I found a fresh engine overhauled 185 Allis, they are both diesels. Here are my questions, I know the 190XT has a turbo on it and the 185 doesn"t other than that, are they the same engine?? Could we pull the engine out of the 185, but the turbo on it and drop back into the 190XT and have a 90 hp pto (approx) tractor?? Are the injectors and pump different from the 185 to the 190XT?? Does anyone have any idea what it would cost to rebuild the pump and injectors?? I"m located in Michigan.

Thank you in advance for any and all help in this matter.

The injector pumps are set differant. Does the 185 engine have the crank driven pump? The XT had an oil cooler also. The basic block is pretty much the same.

If the 185 is in very good condition versus a 190xt which is questionable ,put the Turbo on the 185 engine and if need for the 190xt is still there find an engine by itself to repower the 190 with. why disable a good tractor to repower another one? At least you will have an 185 no one else has. My 2cts. worth.

Now this is just a guess but from what I see in my I-T manual there the same engine. As far as cost to have an injector pump rebuilt when I still had a 190XT it cost me $750 to have the pump rebuilt. And injectors where around $50 each to have rebuilt
