The left rear wheel on our "B" slipped and is now off center. Its still mounted on the tractor. Any pointers on how to re-center it and keep rim snug to hub?

Just like a cheap farmer instead of doing it the right way everybody else welds the bottoms for the clamps. just put some pieces of small metal under the clamps then tighten them, or email me i have an extra pair of rims off my 1938 ac b for sale, with clamps and there real tight, and have no problems

End your misery and get a replacement 4-loop rim.

Eldon has the procedure right. My Dad had a "C" that developed this problem and he made shims to go under the adjustable clamps. This worked for years and it is easier than welding.

Eldon spelled it out pretty good. the ecentrics wedge aginst the rims. if they dont wedge, then you need to weld a bead on the half moon clamp to get more clamping force when turning the ecentric.

Of the 4 locking blocks, there should be 2 blocks with eccentric bolts (identified by a "t" on the bolt head). Make sure these are next to each other so they can be turned to take up the slack in both axis. One of the blocks without the eccentrics should be located on the rim stop, to keep the rim from turning on the center when pulling. Tighten the bolts in the 2 plain blocks first, then snug up the eccentric bolts and then turn the bolt until that axis is tight. Do the same on the other eccentric, tighten down the nuts and the wheel should be snug on the rim. If it doesn't snug up with the eccentics at their maximum travel you will have to shim up the blocks, or run a bead of weld on them to build them up.

Could be anything from loose bolts to wear on the rim or the cast lugs that hold it in place.

You can buy TWO more excentrics for a total of four and have twice the amount of take up and still look original.
