D15, 1961 6 or 12 volt?

Hey Guys, I got my new to me D15 home today. Were they originaly 6 or 12 volt systems? Mine has a delco 10 si alternator on it. The wiring harness is kind of ratty, although I will probably leave the delco I am curious.

D15 were 12 volt, but all D series were positive ground. Negative supply to the starter. They were all generators. Alternator is aftermarket, but good upgrade.

Thanks for the correction. The book that I used didn't specify negative or positive. I should have checked further before stating which it was. I thought the one D-15 that I worked on was negative ground but must have been mistaken or it already had the alternator conversion.

According to the book, both gas and diesel, series I and Series II were 12 volt negative ground.

12 volt (i think)
anyway, nice tractor. do the loader hydrualics run off the tractor's hydraulic pump or do u need a pto pump or somthing? (i want a loader for mine but dont no if u need any modifications)

This one is set up on a stinger pump right off of the crank. The grill has been cut :(
