First off if its a 1948 its a WD not a WD-45. Are you asking what the fireing order is?? If so its 1,2,4,3

Thanks, old. I'm a Case man myself but was inquiring for another feller. He says he knows the firing order but wants the routing of the wires from the plugs to the specific terminal on the mag. I told him to set the engine on TDC, set number one on the mag and go from there but he doesn't seem to 'savvy'! Oh well, maybe I'll drive over there and check it out.

As you may know, the mag can be set up with #1 in any of four positions. Allis (from the factory) set it up with #1 being the top terminal closest to the block. The manuals all suggest this as well. So if the past mechanic(s) did as the manual suggests, that will be #1. But I would recommend finding top dead center on the #1 cylinder on the compression stroke and then verifying where the rotor is. You can't afford to assume that it is as Allis intended.
