My husband just purchased a 1940 Allis and it has ARROW above the grill. The fellow who he got the tractor from said it was a 1937 but the serial# says a 1940. Can't find any info on ARROW. Appreciate any info.

Phyllis, I'd guess that we need a little more information here. In 1937 Allis-Chalmers produced the U, WC, A and B. In 1940 Allis-Chalmers produced the U, WC, RC, A, B and C. The only deviation I can think of from that was a number of 25-40/A's that were sold as rolling chassis to the Bantem Company to produce the Greyhound threshing tractor.

If you go to the galleries section you can search the various pictures available to help give us an idea what we are looking for.

Phyllis, what is the model of the Allis tractor? Can't recall an arrow on anything.

Phyllis, I've looked at my books etc and can't find any reference to an arrow regarding the B. They did make a few specialty's of this tractor - notably a potato and an asperagus version. These actually had different front axels. If you could take a nice jpg picture of it, it is very easy to post that picture on the "Tractor Photos" section under Galleries at the left of this page. After it is there, let us know on this board and we'll have another look.
