CA light switch

I am restoring a CA and I have the instrument box off and apart and before I put it back together I want to make sure the switch is still good, so is there a way I can test it.

i cant tell you which terminal is which, but if you have a continuity meter you can test it this way. Off, the 12 volt terminal is not connected to any other terminal. the resisstor has about 3 ohms resistance across it.--- When you pull the switch half way out, you get full charge on the generator so the F wire (from the gen) to the resistor is shorted to ground thru the switch. -- With switch all the way out, the lights come on so the 6 volt termiinal is connected to the light wire terminal, and you also have the resistor F wire shorted to ground for full charge.--- If you are not aware of it, the resistor on the light switch is in the F generator wire to ground. the higher resistance causes low chargning with lights off. When you turn the lights on, the resistor is bypassed and F wire is shorted dirrectly to ground for full charge.
