Just picked up another Allis tractor today but not sure which it is a C or a CA how do you tell?? It has hyds and my other C doesn't have them.

The serial number indicates a 1946 Model C.

I beleive that a C has five lug back wheels similar to a late B and a CA has Six lug rear wheels similar to a WC.

Easiest way from a distance is the power adjust rear wheels on the rear of a CA.....or else the 4sp tranny on a CA vs the 3 spd of the C, or the hand clutch on the RH side on a CA, or the sc (or pin hitch) drawbar on the CA as well as heavier hydraulics and cylinders, or the 2 tapped bosses that the CA has sticking out the sheet metal on the front end, or the sheet metal platform under the seat and over the rearend of a CA, or the fact that the s/n starts with CA on the CA or C with the C.....lots of differences.

Ok that tells me the story then. Its a C just wasn't s8ure because the decal looked like it had something missing on it and that got me to thinking about what I had. Serial number on this is C38659. Its a 3 speed. May have to watch my wife on this one she might take it over if I can get it to run.
