I saw someone refer to an "Aparagus Special B" Is this the same as a high crop "B"? I was raised on an Asparagus Farm and we had what we called a High Crop B. I never heard the B referred to as an Asparagus Special. Outside of the height, is there any other differences in the High Crop/Aspapagus Special or "B"? We sold ours 15+- years ago, but there are still a couple around this area.

Allis made five models of the B. The IB, B (standard with the wide non adjustable and adjustablefront end) B potato, Aparagus and the Cane (or high crop) units. If you had an Aspragus B the wheels would have been a different size and most likly the front was adjustable. It would give you a adjustable with I think of 84" wheel to wheel. I would have to check on that. The tractor motor and fram was the same on all the units except the IB. The IB would have been lower to the ground and there was no drop rear end. I hope this helps. I have a picture of The gathering of the orange High Crops they had in Canadagua NY I could send you. Just e-mail me and I"ll send it out.
