I've got a redneck conversion WC. You can click the link and see the pics. I'd sell mine for not much more than $650 and it runs.

Looks to me that the pump is on the 'original' right side, driven by a belt.....is it from a double sheave pulley on the crankshaft? My first pump I put on the crankshaft with a stub shaft welded on the pulley- then extended the C-frame about 8 inches and used a double sprocket/double chain coupler. Had plenty of room to work with, with the extra frame.

Yup, stock right side. Runs off of a WD45 2 groove pulley. Also has PS on it. That runs off of a longer belt that does the fan and alt, if I remember right. It's been several months since I've worked on it.

The two groove pulley was spendy - bought one when I put PS on the WD. Took it off since- big load of snit or rock- don't need PS!!! Pushed many rock off the field, steering with the foot brakes because the two back wheels didn't touch the ground anyway! Now, with combine steering axles and hydro steering- could really make a nice reversed unit.

Back in the sixty"s. When Loaders were new and expensive. A few clever entrepreneurs purchased used orange tractors for the price. Turned the sears and controls around, mounting loader masts on them. Repainted, they were resold. Johns Manufacturing near Lacota, Michigan was one. Those old tractors weighted over the steering wheels were orchard and vineyard used locally up and down the Lake Michigan fruit belt.
Other tractor and implement innovators of the that time and earlier were Friday and Love down in Berrien County, Michigan.

We have a few homemade reversed WD or WC's with loaders floating around this area. I think a local former AC dealer has one of them. I've never worked on one but I was told it's pretty easy to flip the ring and pinion to reverse the rear end. The rest is up to the designer's imagination. Jim

I reversed my WD in the late 70s. To change direction you need to pull each rear axle out slightly, remove the bolts on the carrier, flip it 180 degrees, and reassemble everything. On the WC, it needs to be split in front of the differential, to get inside of it, and some cast iron needs to be ground away to get room for the refigured gears. Mine has the seat over the gas tank, with steering, clutch, and brakes also reversed.

Allis as far as I know did not make that tractor, that one probably is home made. Allis had a partnership type deal, and perhaps even manufactured a Tractomotive, very close sister, usualy larger / heavy machines. As I posted before the tractomotive line was kinda short lived due to a death as I recall. I have a WD and think the world of it, as well as two tractomotives that do the job, but are pretty akward. That is a very good buy if it has decent hydrolics and a good loader mounted on it. Dave NE IA

I asked the same thing a couple weeks ago. It is what is called a towmotor or something like that. You might search the archives for my post. A couple people even posted a picture or 2. Shoot if you don't want it and its close enough I would probably like it. Or if you buy it and need a good block let me know I have a good block in my shop
