What diameter bushing is needed to mount the front end engine weights on a model B. Also, what size bolt is used to mount the weight on the front of the tractor. The tractor is two hours away and I wanted to buy the hardware before going to the farm. Finally, does anyone know the weight of AC B rear wheel weights? The casting number is: AM 2795-7.

Thanks for everyones help in advance.

Tom

Can't tell you how much the rear one weigh but I know I'm not going to try to pick one up by my self. I have a set laying around and if I had to guess I would say they are around 250lbs give or take a little

You're welcome Tom. I did notice in the B parts book today that the attaching bolts are listed as 5/8 x 2-3/4 long. The nut (and lockwasher) goes on the forward side of the front support plate. Pretty much overkill for holding up 1/2 the weight (less than 50#) in shear but that's what AC used originally.

Hi Tom,

third party image

That bushing (spacer, part #213409) actually measures up as follows:

1-3/16 OD x 21/32 ID x 1.307 Long

There is a 1/8 long 45° chamfer on the OD of one end. There is a 3/32 long 45° chamfer on the ID at that same end. The other end has a 1/16 long 45° chamfer on the OD only.

I don't think you have to be that precise unless you want near perfect originality. The hole in the weights is 1-1/4 dia x 1-3/4 deep. The holes in the front support plate are 11/16 dia. I'm using 1/2 x 2-1/4 long hex head bolts to attach mine to the front plate. With dimensions noted, 5/8 dia bolts would also work but are certainly not necessary. There doesn't seem to be any obvious reason why the length is so precise. It doesn't need to be. As long at the bushing itself plus the bolt head or nut doesn't protrude 1-3/4 or more from the front plate, it should work fine.
