Today I was down in the barn going thur my Grand Dads thing when I ran across a real nice sales brocheur for a Allis E-40 tractor. I never knew they made such a thing! looks like a D-15. The pages are real good, lots of info about tractor. He died in Jan of 1965 and its been in the box since then,, so it must be in early 60's. It probly not worth much,if any thing! But I can say I got one!

Is it possible that it is an ED-40, which was an english build diesel powered tractor that was based on the original "B" Allis.

I had several of the ED-40s. My neighbor bought them new in 1963. I still have the owners and parts manuals. But - about what you say about it being built on a B platform? I don't think so, not even close. The ED-40 was a heavier and more rugged tractor and outweighed a B by over 1200 lbs. The engine was made by Standard Motor Co. in England and was also used in taxi cabs. Both mine had differential locks, a foot clutch and a hand clutch (to allow a live PTO).
