Hello. I have asked before and have done searches regaurding this topic but would like to get some more ideas. I want to rev up my 1950 IB for tractor driving compititions (short burst). Where do you get the CA govenor springs. AGCO or maybe Sandy Lake Implement?. I am thinking there is different govenor rods and linkage depending on what year it is, is this right does, it matter? Dick L would it be possible for you to send me a match to your high rpm spring?

CA spring will give you about 150 rpm or a B125 "power unit" spring is good for around 300 rpm. Sandy Lake or Norm should have either.

To get to the RPM"s that I was able to get came at a high price. I started with building a pressure system for the rod bearings, then rebuilding the rods to do away the shims, then having the engine balanced so it would not shake apart, then sending my cam out to be ground, and then starting with the original carburetor rebuilding it to get the volume of mixture to the firing chamber.
But heck if you just want to make it jump up a bunch in RPM,s go to the hardware store and get what is called a cot spring. That will get the rpms as high as your carburetors capacity.
