As The Grateful Dead said, what a long strange trip it's been! The last five years included a divorce (in which I lost my farm), a break up with a live in girlfriend and finally some great news with my marriage to a wonderful new wife. My '47 C was held hostage for two years by the ex-girlfriend. After threatening police action I finally got my baby back. I know she needs a new water pump, a lube change, a fuel system cleanup and plugs and wires. Is there anything I might be missing that y'all (remember I'm from Tennessee!) can think of. I want to do it right because I plan on having back working a small farm again soon! Thanks!

If you haven't already considered it, you should replace all fluids including fuel, lubricants, and coolant.

i agree whole heartedly...ex's have a bad habit of adding all kinda concoctions to fuel tanks and crankcases...i got the job of fixin a vette once upon a time that an ex had peeled a golf ball and dropped it in gas tank...imagine zillions of tiny fingers of rubber stuck to everything that came into contact with fuel :(

I don't like to comment on OT personal messaages, but I don't think your post was anything to do with getting your tractor back, I hope you enjoyed your trip thru the daisies, et seq., life is full of surprises , that take us to 'l and back. Best of Luck with your tractor.

Actually it"s not a personal post but a sincere request for input. Not only is it impotant for me to insure my C runs right from a family history standpoint but also from a agricultural history standpoint. As BCnT pointed out almost anything could have been done to her. Not only that but sitting a couple years isn"t good for any tractor. I"m glad to have her back... now it"s time to get her up and running great!
