Hey guys I've been watching a D 17 sit fer about 10 yrs now.I used to werk on it when I was wrenching at least 17 yrs ago,it needed to be rebiult then but we kept putting bandaids on it to keep it running for the guy.The tires are nothing to brag about and I don't know if it's stuck but like I said I already know it needs to be rebuilt. The tin looks pretty good also. Are there any quirks with these models and about what is a decent price fer the old girl as is?Thanks in advance.
Dave

I purchased my D17 and drove it over 20 miles home. It had combine wheels and tires and several things wrong. Sheet metal is not bad. Motor is sound and I need to fix some oil seals but several parts and gaskets and adjustable wheels used rims and tires and wheel weights and I have about about $2100 including purchase price. I'm satisfied and I'll paint it this summer. I'm not fixing it to show just to make usable.

I bought my D-17 Diesel for $550 and it did not need to rebuilt (engine). It did need everything else though: electrical, brakes, power steering, tires and hydraulics. Now that it is field ready, I have $950 in it - a very low investment.

If there is a lot there, $1000 isn't bad. If it's ready to go, it's probably worth $3000 or more.
