HI Forum Well just made a deal to get a D19 , I'll have a few more questions about it I'm sure. Here's the first of many. Bought her for small square bailing. How are they on gasoline useage? I was told that they may use 6-7 GPH (Gallons Per Hour) maybe more ?? I use Wd's and they are fair around .75-1.5 per hour. If I'm plowing with the 2 X 16" deep and in sod I get about 1.5 for the first hour and by that time she is getting warm and it about time to think about stopping, I can plow in 2nd, and maybe 3rd with the one. We have allot of smaller fields only bigger fields which are very small ( to most ) are hay fields and that would be in 3-4 acres. Now I have a few close farms near me that I would like to plow and plant small grains oats etc. That would be asking alot out of the small older wd's in warm weather they get too warm plowing. Was hoping to use the d19, but some say they drink gas. At the higher price I maybe better off staying with the wd's as I can always use a different one and let one rest. Have two the run and one more that is going to run. An wd-45 on the way. So why look for a plow and disks for the d19 if she drinks too much. I used wd's to plow 3.5 acres last year, sod and 6-8" deep plowing (hard stony ground) was around 4 hours and about ( 6 Gallons ) 20.00 in gas. Now if she can plow it in 2 hours and uses ( 15 Gallons )45.00 in gas that sound like I better stay with what I have sound like a catch 22. If gas goes up like I think it may, whats too stop it. The old oliver plows and the wd's do a fine job to and that is very important too me nice smooth fields. Hate a bad plowing job and field that mess up my hay equipment. Thanks !! Have a Good One !!
