Hello All, I have a friend that has a model EB. We were wondering what the E designates. Is it Electric or were some of the tractors made in england? I notice that on the register there is a machine in the UK that has the model EB also. Thanks, BB

AC imported the B into the UK from 1938 to 1945. From 1947 to 1949 they assembled them from American parts at Totton near Southampton southen England. In 1949 they aquired the factory at Essendine near Stamford Lincolnshire witch MM used to assemble UDS tractors. The UDS tractor was a US built rear end and a British built Dorman or Meadows diesel engine. When AC built the B at Essindine they gave the serial no an E prefix. The Rotobaler was also build in the same factory. MJ

the E does stand for england. noted difference is the EB probably has LUCAS electrics for the starter, generator and lights instead of DELCO. also i think the British unit had different rear axle ends that the hubs bolt to. rims might look more like a big truck rim instead of a tractor.??
