On occasions I lose my "power steering" suddenly. Sometimes I can move my loader up and down and move the back boom arm around the the power steering will resume. However sometimes it doesn't. Eventually the power steering will return but eventually stop again!

I have "full" and "clean" Hyd fluid and new filter. Send help. Answer here or e-mail me.

Ron

Does the system have a 'priority valve' that is not working? Valve takes fluid for power steering first, leaves the rest for other hydralic functions.

JMS, I don't have a clue but I will investigate that. Thanks.

Most systems on tractors and combines, etc, use the priority valve. It sucks out about the first 3 gpm to make sure you have steering, the rest goes to hydraulic valve bank. Some kind of pressure thing, I think, makes it work. Small cast valve in the system, between the pump and the hyd bank. Generic, 3-4 inches in size with several lines on it.

I had the same problem with a 715B. Mine was more frequent in cold weather rather than warm.
Steering wheel would turn but wouldn't steer. I didn't use mine for that reason in the cold. Don't have the tractor now.Compleated my project. I do have a set of Manuals for this machine- Operator's Manual, Parts# break down manual, and
Overhaul trouble shooting manual.I have been thinking of putting them on E-bay. Used, but Handy.
I paid $75 for them, Would take $60 for them.Plus Shipping. Does have a section on Front Axel and Steering System. Thought you might interested, use this - New E-mail Address - [email protected] - to reply. Bob
