I have a question about the belt system on my Allis WC. To me it seems that if you want to change the belt you have to drain the radiator and undo the hose lines to change a belt. That seems like a stupid designe to me but i just want to make sure im the missin sumthin.The only thing i can think of is taking the bottom hose off then unbolt the fan and take the belt out that way.Thanks for all your help. -Shaun

Rick, you are correct you have to drain radiator & remove atleast one end of hose to put new fan belt on...

I had to change the belt on our 35 WC. It just has a pulley for the fan and one on the crank. Theres nothing to loosen to remove the belt. My son just removed the crank pulley, it wasnt that hard and worked like a charm. The only problem I can see is if the crank pulley is on really tight.

The fan pulley is slotted (adjustable), and on the unstyled tractor, that is the one to loosen to change belts. Very likely it is stuck, so if you take off the fan and pulley, loosen the 1/4 inch bolts and clean everything well, coat the mating surfaces with never-seize, it should work properly the next time the belt needs to be tightened or replaced.

Maybe I have missed something but why remove the radiator. Shoot I can change the belt on my WC-Speed Patrol with out removeing any thing. And the machine is almost the same as a WC other then it has more iron on it but the same engine etc.

I was trying to say that there is a hose at the bottom of the engine that the belt goes under. There is no apparent way to get the belt off without removing that hose.In that case i would have to drain the radiator to get the hose off.Even if i would remove the fan and pulley it still wouldnt do me any good.
